Action Plan for Management of All Well Production in the Santa Ynez River Alluvium Area, Above the Lompoc Narrows
Join the three Santa Ynez Valley Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs) to learn about the requirements for you to register your well. Avoid extra fees by registering your well correctly!
Purpose of workshops:
- Help well owners understand applicable requirements for well registration and production reporting.
- Explain the well registration and reporting programs, the importance of regular measuring and reporting for each subsurface diversion, and filing of Statements of Water Diversion and Use with the State Water Resources Control Board (State Board).
- Provide information on how to prepare and file Statements of Water Diversion and Use with the State Board.
- Explain the consequences of not reporting subsurface diversions, including potential management and/or investigation by a GSA, the State Board, or the Santa Ynez River Water Conservation District, and other potential penalties and enforcement actions.
Who should attend:
Well owners and well users along the lower Santa Ynez River, from Bradbury Dam to Lompoc.
Why attend:
Learn about the requirements to register your well with the correct agency. All well production in the Santa Ynez Groundwater Basin and the Santa Ynez River Alluvium Area is required to be reported to the applicable GSA, State Board, and the Santa Ynez River Water Conservation District.
Workshop Schedule (September 2025)
For your convenience, the three GSAs will hold four community workshops across the Western (WMA), Central (CMA), and Eastern (EMA) Management Areas. Please find the workshop location, date, and time that best suits your schedule. The meetings are anticipated to last up to 2 hours.
